About Us

The Port Mayaca Polo Club was designed and built by Stephen Orthwein, former Chairman of the United States Polo Association and a member of the Executive Committee of the International Polo Federation.

The Club has five Championship fields and club barns with paddocks to stable 128 horses.

Port Mayaca Polo Club features a world class facility and promotes both family oriented and highly competitive polo from November to May (range from 10-22 goal polo through the season). The club will also focuses on Junior Polo and International Competitions.

The Orthwein family has been playing polo for three generations and has been intimately involved in developing polo in south Florida, and the entire United States, with close connections to the St. Louis Polo Club, Greenwich Polo Club, Atlanta Polo Club, Gulfstream Polo Club and Palm Beach Polo.

The Port Mayaca Polo Club is developing and growing world-class polo for the next generation of players.

The Club is located 40 minutes northwest from Wellington in a rapidly growing equestrian area.

Directions from Wellington:

  1. Take Southern Blvd to SR 98 (approx 12 miles west of Wellington).
  2. Take right on SR 98 (NW) to Canal Point (approx 16 miles).
  3. Take Right on 441/98 N, also called Connor's Hwy (approx 13 miles).
  4. Club on right approx 4 miles after crossing over St. Lucie Bridge.

Directions from Palm Beach

  1. Take Bee Line Hwy (710) west to Indiantown
  2. Take Kanner Hwy towards Port Mayaca (approx 10 miles)
  3. Take Left (North) over St. Lucie Bridge
  4. Club 4 miles on right once over Bridge.
